Biography

Tom Kraabel is an accomplished global human resources leader with nearly two decades’ experience living and working in countries across Asia Pacific and Europe, in addition to his home country of the United States.  In his current position with a leading financial services company and, previously with two Fortune 100 organizations, he has lived and worked in Tokyo, Singapore, Shanghai and Brussels.  Prior to his career in human resources, he also lived in Israel and attended school in England.  Throughout his life he has traveled extensively, visiting over forty countries.

Tom is currently the Group Head of Human Resources for MasterCard Worldwide’s Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa region.  As the region’s top human resources executive, Tom is responsible for leading all aspects of MasterCard’s human capital strategy for the APMEA region.  He is based at the company’s regional headquarters in Singapore.

Prior to joining MasterCard, Tom was Vice President for Human Resources & Services with Ingram Micro.  Based in Brussels, he was responsible for the development and implementation of the Europe, Middle East and Africa region’s human resources strategy.  In addition, he supervised the European 6 Sigma process improvement function and the corporate communications team.

Tom joined Ingram Micro in 2004 as Senior Human Resources Director for Asia Pacific.  Under his direction, the company successfully built the capability of the region’s employees and its HR team.  Tom was also responsible for leading the HR component of Ingram Micro’s acquisition of Tech Pacific, the largest in the corporation’s history.

Early in his human resources career, Tom served as Director of Human Resources at Honeywell International, and its predecessor AlliedSignal, in the US and Asia Pacific.  He also worked for United Parcel Service and The Fisher Group Companies where he held various positions in operations, customer support, marketing and sales.

Tom served with distinction in the United States Marine Corps as an aviation radar technician and instructor.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in business from Luther College and a Master’s degree in human resources and industrial relations from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Business.
